5 Commandments for Trekking

Here is a list of five commandments for trekking that will help newbies enter the wonderful world of trekking smoothly.

Thou shall keep alert
During the trek, keep a lookout for potential dangers. Remember not to touch suspicious looking flora, no matter how curious you are. Poisonous plants are another hiking hazard.

Thou shall always carry water
An essential thing that everyone must carry on a trek is water. And carry enough to last you for your entire trek. It is easy to get dehydrated while it's warm.

Though shall eat right
Pack dryfruits, bars, trail mixes (that's why they are called trail mix, to be taken on a trail!), chocolates to get that energy boost. The importance of keeping yourself hydrated cannot be said enough to make it count. Drink water to avoid cramps on the strenuous paths.

Though shall dress appropriately
Make sure to wear garments that cover full hands and legs, so that you can avoid scrapes from branches. Wear layers. You can always remove your coat if it’s hot, but not having appropriate cover from the cold can prove dangerous.

Though shall wear correct footwear
Wear a pair of good trekking shoes that provide you ankle protection. Wear and tear them by walking in them days before the trek, so that you don't have to worry about a shoe bite.
